turquoise ring
Description
The Kingman mine in Arizona is possibly the most famous source of American turquoise. It yielded the brilliant blue sleeping Beauty turquoise that became world famous and was desired from Europe to Iran. That vein and the famous mine are now closed and the world no longer has a source of such quality. This ring is cut from some of the last of the Kingman turquoise, with its characteristic black matrix. The black veins in the sky blue add a third color that I like.
The stone is cut in a dramatic oval and pear shape by famous cutters of Europe. It’s American and wearable. I think of it with a white cotton sweater. Wear it with navy blue or dramatically with yellow, or brown. It’s a ring for anytime; it is the epitome of casual and elegant, day jewelry.
